About Our Company

We started because every contractor we knew treated your home like just another job on a Tuesday.

Fifteen years ago, I watched my father negotiate with landscapers who cut corners. They'd prune a oak without asking questions about its structure. They'd remove a mature tree because it was easier than managing it. I remember him saying, 'Why doesn't anyone just do this right the first time?' That question stuck with me.

I'd been in landscaping since I was sixteen. Learned from people who understood trees not as obstacles but as living systems. When I started this company, I made one decision: we'd hire arborists, not just landscapers. We'd earn certifications in risk assessment. We'd show up and actually listen to what a property needed instead of pushing the same solution everywhere. That meant saying no to jobs where we couldn't do them right. It meant charging fairly instead of competing on price. It meant building a team where the oldest hand on crew had as much voice as the newest hire.

The early years were lean. We lost jobs to bigger companies with shinier trucks. But the ones we kept? They came back. They referred their neighbors. They told their friends we were the ones who actually fixed the problem instead of creating new ones.

'I became president of the Indiana Arborist Association because I believed the profession itself needed to stand for something beyond quick profit. We're stewards of trees that'll outlive all of us. That changes how you work.'

— Owner, Certified Arborist

What We've Learned

Certification in risk assessment isn't just a credential we hang on the wall. Early on, we missed a hazard on a large property—the kind of thing that could have meant liability, a lawsuit, worse. We fixed it at our cost and added mandatory training. Now it means every recommendation we make comes from someone trained to see what's actually there, not what's easy to treat. You get peace of mind because we've trained ourselves to see danger before it becomes a problem.

Quality workmanship sounds like a slogan until you understand what it costs. We've turned down jobs because they needed more time than the budget allowed. We've redone work because the client's vision changed halfway through and we wanted it right. This isn't generosity—it's clarity. A job done halfway is more expensive to you than one done completely.

Over 50 years of combined experience across our team means we've seen the same problem solved ten different ways. We know which method holds up in Indiana weather, which approach works for your soil, which timeline actually matters. That experience lives in every conversation we have with you before we start.

How We Work

Working with us means clear conversations from the start. We show up on time. We explain what we're seeing and why we recommend it, not just what we're going to do. You'll notice our crew cleans up after themselves—it's a small thing that means we respect your space. You'll hear from us if something changes during the work. We won't surprise you with extra costs or shortcuts.

If you've been frustrated with contractors who disappear after the invoice, or with explanations that feel designed to confuse rather than clarify, we're different. We're still in business fifteen years later because people trust us. If you're ready to talk about what your property actually needs, reach out. We'll listen first and tell you honestly what makes sense.
